RAMC earns CDC (Centers for Disease Control) Full Plus Recognition

December 12, 2023

Reedsburg Area Medical Center has earned the coveted CDC (Centers for Disease Control) Full Plus Recognition for their National Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle change program, also known as Health4U.  This designation is reserved for programs that have effectively delivered a quality, evidence-based program that meets all of the standards for CDC recognition. This achievement means the organization has earned five years of CDC-recognition (Full Plus) as opposed to the three years that organizations in FULL recognition have received. The continued success of Health4U makes an invaluable contribution to the prevention of type 2 diabetes, both in our community as well as nationally.

Not only does this program show you how to prevent diabetes; participants have achieved an average of 8-11% weight loss, decreased the need for medications, improved their overall health and gained energy.  Here are some comments from past participants:

“I think this is the best lifestyle change program available. I have more spring in my step, stayed committed to my exercise program and ate well.”

“Participating in the HEALTH 4U program was great for me, so worth my time and money. I continue to try eating healthy, a life-long endeavor, much easier now, and to walk. I feel strong and healthy, able to move!”

“This program has been the catalyst to make positive changes in my life.”

“After participating in the HEALTH 4U program, all of my lab results improved and my A1C (blood sugar level) was within a normal range. Daily food logging and exercise helped me reach my goals and have become my regular routine.”

RAMC is able to offer this program and be reimbursed by Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans for those who qualify.  Participants can also self-pay for a reasonable cost of as low as $240 for the entire program.
