Dr. Kaji is a clinician-scientist interested in the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac hypertrophy and failure. Kaji has developed transgenic and knockout murine models of heart failure and hypertrophy. Using mouse models, Kaji tests the function of nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins in loss-of-function and gain-of-function models.
