National Library Week

April 22, 2021
This past week was National Library Week!  This is a special time to celebrate our local libraries!
The RAMC Birth Center supports reading to even the youngest of children.  According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), reading to children, starting in early infancy, can have long lasting effects on language, literacy, and early reading skills.  The Reedsburg Education Association has generously donated hard covered children's books to each of our newborns for several years now in support of early reading.
Katie Miles, Birth Center nurse and mother of three children ages 6, 4, and 11 months says,  "As a parent of young children, I have appreciated all the services my local library has offered throughout the years. Story time, summer reading program, and the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program are some of my favorites.  During the Covid pandemic, I’ve still been able to take my children on adventures through stories shared together."
