Free Tdap Vaccines to Birth Center Families

Reedsburg Area Medical Center has begun providing free tetanus-pertussis vaccines to adult family members who have not been recently immunized – Derek Bennett was the first new dad to receive his in the Birth Center when his wife Heather gave birth to their son Walker.

Tdap is the booster vaccine that is need to help protect newborns from Pertussis, also known as “whooping cough”. Infants are not fully protected until they have obtained their full vaccination series by the age of 6 months. New Moms have been receiving vaccination updates for the last 4 years.

Whooping cough has recently become more prevalent in our area – please see your health care provider and get immunized to protect yourself and others.
