Reedsburg, healthcare, and the Partners of Reedsburg Area Medical Center have evolved over the past forty years. In 1959, 103 women chartered the Reedsburg Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to promote and advance the welfare of the hospital and its patients and to assist the Reedsburg Memorial Hospital in promoting the health and welfare of the community in accordance with objectives established by the hospital's governing board. Today, the Partners of Reedsburg Area Medical Center with more than 225 men, women, and corporate members, continues the tradition of caring and giving. This proactive and visionary organization focuses on meeting the challenges and opportunities of an ever changing medical complex and a growing community through continued financial support, volunteerism, and education. As an integral component of the Medical Center, the Partners promote activities, services, and the funding of items, which directly benefit patients, residents, visitors, and staff. The Partners of Reedsburg Area Medical Center are credited with initiating and supporting a number of unique projects, such as the Medical Center's chapel, constructed in 1998, which features a handcrafted stained glass window.
The Partners of Reedsburg Area Medical Center value the talents and abilities of its members and supports the personal growth of each individual. Participation in the organization's board, committees, activities and collaborative community events is encouraged. As an affiliate of Partners of Wisconsin Health and Hospitals Association, the Partners of Reedsburg Area Medical Center participates in District, State, and National conferences / educational opportunities.

The Volunteer Services Department of Reedsburg Area Medical Center, exists to bring Caring to Life through dedicated service to the medical complex and our community.
Volunteerism at Reedsburg Area Medical Center dates back to the creation of a volunteer team by the newly chartered Reedsburg Hospital Inc. Auxiliary in 1959. A strong alliance was formed and and has been fostered between volunteers and staff. As an integral component of the medical complex=s health care team our volunteers enhance holistic care and service by offering unique skills and talents to help accomplish the mission of service and achieve our vision.
Currently over 225 students and adults, ages 14 to 90, volunteer in one or more of the twenty-six onsite and offsite service areas. Each volunteer is dedicated to the medical center and is committed giving back to the community at large. As a result volunteers bring the community to the medical center and in turn bring the medical center back into the community.
Volunteers are required to complete an application, health history (screened by Health Services), tuberculosis questionnaire, interview, two-step tuberculosis screening, general orientation, and specific training prior to a service area match. Prospective volunteers are offered and encouraged to take the opportunity to shadow current volunteers in one or more areas prior to accepting a service area match.
