| CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION CLASSES |

Cost: $60 per couple

Six, five (5) week childbirth education sessions are offered each calendar year. Each class will have a 2 hour duration. The first four weeks consist of healthy prenatal behaviors, the labor, birth, postpartum and newborn care and experience and practice in breathing and relaxation techniques. Class five is a comprehensive breastfeeding class. Classes meet in the lower level wellness area from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost for the entire 5 week session is $60.
Five Saturday classes are offered each calendar year. The content is similar to that listed above, with less detail and practice. Families choosing the Saturday class option are encouraged to attend the Breastfeeding Class which best fits their time schedule, as listed below. Classes meet in the lower level wellness area from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The cost for the Saturday class is $60. This $60 fee also covers the cost of the Breastfeeding Class as discussed above. The Saturday classes are held in January, March, May, September and November.

| • Waterbirth Education – Includes a video, tour and discussion of the benefits and contraindications
• Sibling Preparation Tour – Emphasizes the importance of big brothers and sisters, visiting mom and baby at the hospital and learning a little bit about babies.
• Grandparent Education – Information shared on current childrearing practices including safety, car seats, sleep and infant development.
• Car Seat Education – Basics of car seat safety and usage as well as a car seat check
• The Perfect Latch - Breastfeeding support group meeting the 2nd Monday of each month in the Birth Center Family Room from 10-11 AM
