SUPPORT WHILE YOU’RE HERE

The Birth Center staff is committed to helping you get off to at good breastfeeding start. Inpatient consultation support is available whenever needed.

SUPPORT DURING YOUR ENTIRE BREASTFEEDING EXPERIENCE

Our Breastfeeding Specialist provides one-on-one personal attention and specialized follow-up care to meet the needs of each mother and infant, by phone and/or by personal consult with a physician referral.

CORPORATE LACTATION SUPPORT SERVICES

RAMC’s Birth Center is closely associated with the Sauk County Breastfeeding Coalition, which advises area employers in providing services to women who return to work while breastfeeding. Ask your employer if this is available where you work. Employers who would like more information can call Sauk County WIC program at (608) 355-4302.

BREASTFEEDING SUPPLIES

RAMC’s Auxiliary, along with the Birth Center, offer a line of supplies for mothers and babies, including:
* Breast pump (manual and electric)
* Nursing pillows
* Pads and lanolin

The supplies are located in the Birth Center, Lactation Educator office. Personal instruction is available for all items. For more information, cal (608) 524-6487, ext. 1300 or a message may be left at ext. 1306.

BREASTPUMP RENTALS

RAMC provides rental electric breastpumps for nursing mothers! When a breastfeeding mother must be away from her baby during feeding times, a breast pump can help maintain her milk supply as well as save her precious milk for later use. Successful breast pumping requires a safe, effective pump designed for the mother’s comfort. RAMC offers just that for a modest rental fee.

These electric breast pumps provide a whisper quiet pumping action which so closely imitates baby’s sucking rhythm and intensity that mother’s let-down reflex is immediately stimulated.

For each mother’s safety and comfort, suction intensity can be set and consistently maintained throughout the quick pumping session.
