Do you have questions about the medications you’re taking? Confused about drug interactions? Wondering about generics? RAMC’s Pharmacist is here to help. The first Monday of every month, Matt Steiner, RAMC Pharmacist, is available from 9 – 10 am in the hospital conference room, located in the main lobby. This is a free service for Reedsburg and the residents of our surrounding communities.
“Improper use of medications cause about 25% of hospital admissions annually among the elderly,” says Dr. Matt McMahan, Clinical Pharmacist with the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. “For example, some medicines should not be taken together, but patients may receive prescriptions from different doctors-who may be unaware of a patient’s complete medication history. About half of all medicines prescribed are taken incorrectly, often because patients don’t have complete instructions or don’t understand why it is important to follow those instructions exactly.”
Participants can spend about 20 minutes, ask questions and get personalized tips on remembering their medicines, reducing or avoiding medication side effects, and safe medicine storage – free of charge.
Jan Brown, RAMC's Consumer Advocate, is pleased to offer complimentary patient assistance services such as, guidance through the Medicare maze, assistance with insurance questions and so much more!
